A Specialist Partner for the Three Risks Your Plan Doesn't Cover.

Medicare, Social Security claiming and long-term care sit inside almost every retirement plan and outside almost every advisor's licensing. SkyWell handles that layer alongside you — and hands the relationship straight back.

The short version

You keep the client. We take the piece you are not licensed or resourced to handle, run it properly, and report back to you. Your client never pays us a fee, and the premium is identical whether they come through you or find us on their own.

You keep the relationship

We are the specialist on one layer, not a second advisor. We do not cross-sell, we do not run a newsletter at your client, and anything we surface outside the referral comes back to you first.

The client pays nothing

Insurance products pay a carrier commission, disclosed to the client. There is no fee, no markup, and no version of the plan that costs more because you were involved.

The recommendation is licensed

Medicare advice is governed by CMS marketing rules that do not apply to your practice. The recommendation, disclosures and documentation sit with the person appointed and certified to make them.

What we take on

  • Medicare. Advantage versus Supplement, Part D, enrollment windows, penalty avoidance, and the annual re-shop. Plans are compared against the client's actual doctors and prescriptions, not against a brochure.
  • Social Security claiming. An RSSA®-certified analysis of the household's claiming options, including the survivor consequence that most single-person calculators ignore.
  • Long-term care. Traditional, hybrid and asset-based funding compared as a reallocation decision, with a CLTC designee, alongside whatever you are already managing.
  • Under-65 health coverage. The gap between an early retirement date and Medicare eligibility, which is where a lot of otherwise-good retirement plans quietly fail.

What we will not do

Worth stating plainly, because it is the part advisors are actually weighing:

  • We will not manage assets or give investment advice. That is your work and we are not licensed for it.
  • We will not market other products to your client without bringing it to you first.
  • We will not tell a client their advisor got something wrong. If we disagree with something in the plan, we raise it with you.
  • We will not put you in a position of appearing to recommend a Medicare plan. The recommendation is ours, in writing, on our licence.

Frequently asked questions

Who owns the client relationship?

You do, without qualification. We are brought in for the Medicare, Social Security timing and long-term care layer, we report back to you, and we do not market our other services to your client. If the relationship ever ends between us, your client stays yours.

How does compensation work?

Insurance products pay a commission from the carrier, set by the carrier and disclosed to the client — the client never pays us a fee, and the premium is the same whether they come through you or find us directly. Where a revenue-share arrangement is permitted for your registration and your firm allows it, we will structure one and put it in writing. Where it is not, we work on reciprocity and say so plainly.

Will you sell my client something else?

Not without telling you first. If a conversation surfaces a need outside what you referred — a term policy about to lapse, an annuity with a problem in it — we bring it back to you rather than acting on it. You decide whether it is yours to handle or ours.

What does this do to my compliance exposure?

It should reduce it. Medicare marketing is governed by CMS rules that do not apply to your practice, and Medicare recommendations made by someone who is not appointed and certified are a real exposure. Handing that layer to a licensed, appointed specialist puts the recommendation, the disclosures and the documentation with the person who is licensed to make it.

Do you work with clients outside Florida?

Yes. Virginia is licensed in 30 states, so a Florida-based advisory firm with clients who retired elsewhere is a normal case rather than an exception. Medicare plan availability is county-level, which is precisely why a specialist matters.

Start with a conversation, not a client.

An advisor meeting is a working session about how you'd want this to run — no client required.
